Friday the 13th

Here is TMB's latest and greatest feature on how to live like the Honey Badger. Go check it out, I highly recommend it!! I have really been enjoying this series! Thanks TMB!

Also: go check out Skinny Runner. This is the start of her "Man Up" week. She's racing 3 Marathons in 3 different states (Gansett, Boston, San Luis Obispo) AND an Ultra Relay (Ragnar SoCal Ultra Relay) in the span of 8 days. Her first marathon is tomorrow morning. That girl is a machine and I'm so jealous!!! Go kick some asphalt SR!!!

Rest day today. I can't believe I woke up sore this morning from my pathetic attempt at intervals yesterday. Hoping to get a few miles in tomorrow before hubby goes to work in the early afternoon. I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Happy running y'all!!!

My life in the crazy house

Some days, like today, I feel like I'm stuck in the movie Groundhog Day. I wish I could say that I was the gorgeous Andie McDowell (though some people have suggested that she is my doppelgänger) but alas my life is more like Bill Murray's character. I feel like I'm stuck in the same day, just a different version. N is home sick again today. Not sure what's going on, but grrrr! I was hoping to get some more miles in today; such is life.

Since I have nothing new to post, go check out TMB's post here. Live like the Honey Badger Principal 6. I am LOVING this series!!

Happy Friday and happy running y'all!!!

Five Things Friday

  1. Allergies and insomnia have been getting the best of me. I thrive when I sleep well and run hard. Right now I'm not getting either done. Yesterday was 78 degrees here in the ATL and the trees are in full bloom. I had to run the AC just to cool the house down. The wind has kicked up and is blowing the pollen everywhere, including my sinuses.
  2. Yesterday I was supposed to run 4 miles. I wasn't feeling it (see #1). I felt fatigued and weak, so I decided to walk 5 miles. Granted I didn't fall over from my dizziness, but it probably wasn't the best idea due to my allergies.
  3. Coffee makes everything better, 'nuff said!
  4. Go check out TMB's awesome post "Live Like the Honey Badger: Principle 5".
  5. Have a great weekend and happy running y'all!

My Drug of Choice

To quote Alice In Chains, “What’s my drug of choice?” Running. Running is my drug of choice. I love how I can wake up (like this morning) down in a hole (more Alice in Chains), down on myself ready to cry for no good reason. Then I can go for a butt kicking run and those Honey Badger endorphins are released and I’m ready to kick some butts and take names. ‘Cause Honey Badger Don’t Care!

Now I ask you, what’s your drug of choice?

Happy running y’all!!!
